You wouldn't be surprised...

...to find that I'd completely forgotten LiveJournal existed. More specifically, that I owned one. I haven't been online much, as I'm pursuing my education once more. (You'd think that after both college and graduate school, I'd be done with that. Apparently not.) Now that all of my kids stay the full day at school (as opposed to the half-day kindergarten program) I actually have time to do things.

I don't exactly relish cleaning the house, though, so school it is.

Happy early birthday to [info]oxygenated317. Best of luck in your years as a daring young thing, love. Go get drunk or something. ^_~

(no subject)

So, I was recently directed to this site, a.k.a. the lovely ladies AB inspired. I must say, we must be doing a crap job 'teaching' the art of bitchery, because they suck at it. Lovely Belinda was kind enough to note our own lack of professionalism, but at least we sound like we know what we're talking about half the time.

What irks me the most, though, is their mention of me. *huff* They don't have the right to utter my name, those scurvy knaves! *huffs again*

Really, though. They spend 400 words ranting about some personal slight another designer served them, and then say that I wasted my time ranting about BWLA - a point they made a jolly show of agreeing with.

This tells me that they wanna gwo up an' be jus' lyke AB awww and that they're doing a bad job of it.

If your relatives live in WA, it rains the whole drive up. T_T

Thanksgiving was as predicted - a lot of relatives, a lot of driving, and a hell of a lot of food. Luckily, my nieces/nephews and my kids actually found something in common. (This is lucky because there are a few very obvious things about parenting that I detest about my husband's sister.)

Other than that, of course, I talked with Lucy on the phone for the first time on Wednesday. I pretty much just forced her cell number out of her and called in the dead of night (hey, I forgot she lived in New York) to say "happy vacation!" and we ended up talking about the Internet, of all things. XD

I'm actually almost worried about AB right now. Not because of my Need To Repent, but because we seem to be experiencing a little bout of internal strife. [info]oxygenated317 mentioned that she had thought about quitting. She and I are, in all respects, the 'originals' and thus the leaders, if you will. And since she puts in a great deal more effort towards the site, I wouldn't be in the best position alone.

I guess I'll talk to her about that later, though. Right now, I need to unpack Thanksgiving leftovers. O_o

Hello World

So, today I decided to try out Livejournal. I've skimmed a few places, and the relative intelligence level appears to be pretty high--this makes me insanely happy. So, I've been learning how all this pre-styled crap works. Do you have any idea how long it took me to figure out how to change my journal to be prett(ier)? I miss WordPress.

I also found 'Twisted Ends', which is a community based off the ever-wonderful webdesign community. It appears to be quite dead, though. :(

If anyone was wondering, yes, this is Kimmy from Acerbic Bitches. I intend for this to be a personal/fandom blog, but who knows--I will probably be posting AB-like stuff here, too.

I think I'll go read some more Livejournal tutorials...

I also took that one icon 'Kalliel' made a while back. But it's kind of ugly, so I need to go find something else. I'm thinking Full Metal Alchemist, because that's my new favorite show. Al and his kittens are so cute! (But maybe this is just my first impression of him. I thought he was some sort of cat rapist when I first saw him. But then, I also thought he was a girl.) I like Winry, too. My daughter, unfortunately, has developed a crazy obsession with Ed.
